Lubbock is primarily served by the Lubbock Independent School District. The prestigious Texas Tech University is located in Lubbock. It is the seventh largest university in the state, with 30,000 students, and contains a law school and medical school. Other colleges and universities in the city include Lubbock Christian University, South Plains College, Wayland Baptist University, and Sunset International Bible Institute. Sixty-five percent of the population is under 35 years of age.
