Dallas is one of the cities in the Dallas-Plano-Irving metropolitan division of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. It is divided into six districts, each with numerous commercial and residential neighborhoods. Dallas maintains and operates forty-one community recreation centers, over two hundred playgrounds, numerous basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, and many picnic areas. There are over sixty miles of hiking and biking trails including Katy Trail, six 18-hole golf courses, two driving ranges, a one hundred acre zoo, called Fair Park and 477 athletic fields. There are many lakes such as While Rock Lake and Lake Highlands, which are near the residential neighborhood of Casa Linda. These are popular lakes and park destinations for those who enjoy recreational activities such as boating, biking, and hiking. Dallas is also home to many colleges and universities such as the University of Dallas and Southern Methodist University. Dallas houses the largest Urban Arts District in the United States and the Dallas Public Library has the largest Children's library center in the nation. Dallas has many shopping centers, restaurants, and downtown districts within its city limits. Dallas offers a variety of housing options with a wide array of prices within its diverse selection of neighborhoods.
