Pittsburgh is a city in Allegheny County located in western Pennsylvania. It is a booming art scene, known to support culture and the arts. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is world-class. The Benedum Center and Heinz Hall provide venues for numerous musicals, lectures, speeches, and other performances. Pittsburgh is also home to many colleges, universities, and research facilities such as the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. The Health Sciences Department at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center manage some of the finest hospitals in the world including an advanced medical research center that performs ground-breaking work in organ transplantation, AIDS and cancer research. Pittsburgh has an excellent public transportation system that connects the city to other neighboring urban cities by the Pennsylvania Turnpike and railroads. For those who enjoy sports, Pittsburgh is home to the MLB's Pittsburgh Pirates, and the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh has many different residential neighborhoods each offering a wide selection of housing options including single family homes and condominiums. Currently, the average price for condominiums is $300,000. Pittsburgh schools have continuously been awarded the prestigious Blue-ribbon for Excellence in Education in many schools. Pittsburgh is a welcoming community with a lively downtown district full of culture, entertainment, and cuisine, plus it has many quiet, small town residential districts as well.

Did You Know? The City of Bridges has 445 bridges, more than any other city in the world except Venice, Italy. The first Big Mac hamburger was sold in Pittsburgh in 1967. (The Big Mac Museum is just outside town.) Pittsburgher John Roebling built the first cable suspension bridge, the Monongahela Bridge, in Pittsburgh in 1846. (He later went on to build the Brooklyn Bridge.)
