Downtown Cincinnati's focal point is Fountain Square, a popular public square and gathering place for events. Downtown is replete with museums, theaters, art galleries, fine restaurants, shopping areas, office buildings and high rise condominiums, with requisite amenities. There are many pedestrian friendly neighborhoods in Cincinnati. In 2008 it was rated the most walkable city in Ohio and 10th most walkable in the U.S.

(which owns Macy's and Bloomingdale's), General Electric, Chiquita Brands International, Great American Insurance Company, and the E. W. Scripps Company. The city is served by the Cincinnati Public School district, which includes Walnut Hills High School, one of the best public schools in the country. Among the colleges and universities in the city include the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and the well respected University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Did You Know? The city's nickname, The Queen City, derives from a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who wrote that the city was "the Queen of the West". The Cincinnati Red Stocking (now Reds) was the first regular professional team in the country, organized in 1869. A little more than two miles of unused subway tunnel lay beneath the streets of Cincinnati.
