Founded in 1854, Rochester is the county seat of Olmsted County and is the third largest city in Minnesota. It is located on both banks of the Zumbro River.

An outdoor enthusiast's paradise, there are over 3,500 acres of parks more than 60 miles of paved trails for biking, jogging, skating, or walking throughout the city and seven golf courses. The Root River and Douglas State Trails together have nearly 55 miles of trails near Rochester, which offer beautiful rural scenery of forest and rolling fields, as well as breathtaking views of the soaring limestone bluffs of the Root River Valley.

Did You Know? George Head, founder of Rochester, named it after his hometown in New York State. Olmsted County is one of only four counties in Minnesota without a natural lake. Rochester has a 151 foot tall Corn Cob Water Tower standing over the Seneca Foods cannery since 1931.
