Minneapolis is located in Minnesota and is the largest city in the state. It adjoins St. Paul, the state's capital, and together they form the core of the Twin Cities, metropolitan area. Minneapolis is positioned in the southeast portion of the state and sits along the Mississippi River. The largest lakes, such as Lake Harriett and Lake Calhoun, make up the ?Chain of Lakes?. For those who enjoy watching sports games, Minneapolis is home to athletic teams including the Minnesota Twins (NLB) and the Minnesota Vikings (NFL), both of which play in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Target Center, another sports venue, is host to the NBA?s Timberwolves (NBA) and Lynx (WNBA). The city has many residential neighborhoods each offering a variety of housing options. Many of the suburban communities have seen recent developments of lofts and condominiums and single-family home improvements.
