Relocating to Palo Alto

Home to Stanford University, Palo Alto is located in Santa Clara County on the San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula. It is located just thirty minutes south of San Francisco and about twenty minutes north of San Jose. Palo Alto is a city well-known for its many unique attributes such as its excellent public and private schools, trendy downtown centered around University Avenue, high-tech industry, and elegant 19th century Victorian homes. The city is divided into two very different neighborhoods. The West side of Palo Alto encompasses upscale residences, beautified parks, Stanford University, and a chic downtown area. East Palo Alto is quiet the opposite. Noted for its higher crime rates and low-end housing, many of the homes are extremely affordable. After the completion of the discount furniture warehouse store, IKEA and the home improvement store, the Home Expo Design Center, East Palo Alto is slowing making improvements to revitalize that area of town. Palo Alto offers a great selection of housing options. The median home price in Palo Alto is around $750,000, while many homes in the west Palo Alto neighborhood are priced well into the millions. East Palo Alto homes average much less than its neighboring west Palo Alto homes. Whether you're looking for a single family home or a high-rise apartment, Palo Alto has something for everyone.
