Yonkers is the largest city in Westchester County, New York and the fourth largest city in the state, with approximately 200,000 residents. It lies along the Hudson River.

Yonkers is divided into four quarters, defined by the Saw Mill River:

• Northeast: Contains the sections of Crestwood, Colonial Heights, Beech Hill, Lawrence Park West and Cedar Knolls
• Northwest: Bordered by the Hudson River, the area has many lovely Victorian-era houses with sweeping panoramic views of the Palisades
• Southeast: McLean Avenue is regarded as the center of Yonkers. Yonkers' "Little Italy" is located in this area
• Southwest: Residential neighborhoods include Nodine Hill, Park Hill, Ludlow Park, Hudson Park, Van Cortlandt Crest and Hudson Park (off the Hudson River) with turn-of-the-century mansions, and upscale condominiums

Yonkers is served by the Yonkers Public School System and award-winning magnet schools. Colleges include Mercy College, Sarah Lawrence College, Westchester Community College and St. Joseph's Seminary.
