San Clemente is located at the southern tip of Orange County, California, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Its population is about 67,000.
San Clemente is a West Coast and international surfing mecca which includes Trestles, North Gate, State Park, Lost Winds, Riviera, Lasuen, The Hole, Beach House, T-Street, The Pier, Linda Lane, 204, North Beach, and Poche.
San Clemente is also home to Surfing Magazine, Longboard Magazine, The Surfer's Journal, and nearby Surfer Magazine, the world's premier surfing publications. Naturally, the city has a high concentration of businesses catering to the industry, including surfboard makers and shapers like Lost Surfboards, Stewart Surfboards and Cole Surfboards. The palm tree studded beach town is nicknamed "the Spanish Village by the Sea".
The city is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, which includes a virtual public K-12 school, the Capistrano Connections Academy. The city elementary schools are Concordia Elementary, Truman Benedict, Vista Del Mar, Las Palmas, Marblehead Elementary, and Lobo Elementary. Middle schools In San Clementine include Bernice Ayer, Shorecliffs, and Vista Del Mar. San Clemente High School is nationally ranked in the top 1.3% of schools.
