Founded in 1847, Napa is the county seat and principal city of Napa County, California. The estimated 2008 population is 75,000.

Napa is in the heart of America's world famous winegrowing region. The city boasts outstanding restaurants on Main Street's "Restaurant Row", featuring the local distinguished wines, as well as numerous wine bars and tasting rooms, theaters, art galleries, and diverse shopping venues.

"Old Town" Napa has some of the finest Victorian-era homes in Northern California. It also has many historic sites, including the Holden Mansion, Sawyer Tannery, Sam Kee Laundry, Napa Valley Opera House, County Courthouse, Goodman Library (the oldest library building in California still used as a library), and the Noyes Mansion.

Residents are attracted to Napa's low crime rate, a high standard of living, clean air and gorgeous weather. Napa has 43 neighborhood parks, community parks, trails, and open space. Residents enjoy historic Fuller Park, the wide-open space of Alston Park, and the multiple use Kennedy Park located along the Napa River. The Napa River Trail will one day run the full six mile length of the city.

Napa neighborhoods include Stanly Ranch, River East, Browns Valley, Westwood, Central Napa, Soscol, Alta Heights, Linda Vista, Vintage, Pueblo, and Beard. The north side neighborhoods have older subdivisions with cul-de-sacs and winding streets. The southern area along the Napa River has marina homes and condominiums and custom homes at the Napa Yacht Club. The east side is more upscale with the Silverado Country Club and Resort, and large estate homes with acreage.
