Miami is a diverse melting pot of cultures, heavily influenced by Latin America and the Caribbean.
Miami neighborhoods are roughly divided into North, South, West and Downtown. Downtown Miami includes Brickell, Virginia Key, Watson Island, and the Port of Miami. The largest and most popular Miami parks, Bayfront and Bicentennial, are found Downtown.
South Miami includes historic Coral Way, with its tree lined streets; The Roads; and hip Coconut Grove with nightclubs, restaurants and unique boutiques. Coconut Grove has many parks and gardens such as Villa Vizcaya, The Kampong, and The Barnacle Historic State Park.
West Miami includes Little Havana, West Flagler, and Flagami. West Miami is a culturally diverse area.
North Miami includes Midtown, with high rise condominiums in neighborhoods such as Edgewater and Wynwood. Wealthier Miami residents live in the northeastern part, in Midtown, the Design District, and the Upper East Side, with many sought after 1920's homes and the MiMo Historic District. North Miami also includes Little Haiti, Overtown, and Liberty City.
The historic Art Deco district in South Beach is renowned as one of the most glamorous areas in the world for its famed nightclubs, beaches, historical buildings, and shopping.
